Ricky Rudd

NASCAR "Ironman", also known as Ricky Rudd, a native of Norfolk, Virginia. From 1981 to 2005 reached the top of NASCAR, and during this time made 788 consecutive starts, a record that he alone possesses. Throughout his racing career took Rudd Richard Childress, Bud Moore, Hendrick Motorsports, Robert Yates Racing and Wood Brothers just to name a few. In 1975 he debuted in the # 10 Ford at North Carolina Speedway driving for Bill Champion, a family friend. Early in his career, Ricky Rudd was involved in a terrible accident in the crash at Daytona Busch. His car was shot in the air and suffered a concussion on impact. It was determined to run the next Daytona 500, but his eyes were so swollen they had to strip to open display. He made a career with his eyes taped open and finished 7th. NASCAR did not learn after the fact and now have a policy to consider any driver is involved in an accident to ensure it is safe to drive in the next race.

In 1988 Mr Rudd had only one victory. He fought hard for her race, but all had problems with air at high pressure and high temperature of asphyxia due to a system Cooling defective. He crossed the finish line with burns and blisters on most of his body and gave his interview in Victory Lane the floor with oxygen to help him breathe.

In 1994, Mr Rudd has decided to launch his own team, driving the # 10 Ford sponsored by the tide. He became the first owner / driver to win the Brickyard 400 in 1997. When the tide to leave his team, he decided to sell its equipment and close the store. It did not take long for Ricky Rudd to find a ride. He hung with Robert Yates Racing to drive the # 28 Texaco / Havoline Ford Taurus. From there he moved to Wood Brothers Racing in the # 21 Ford, Yates then back in 2007, his last trip, the # 88 Snickers Ford.
